It is important that we make sure that what we need are always taken cared of like our daily expenses which include basic needs such as food, shelter, bills and etc. all of these are our priorities to survive everyday or else it will be havoc. But where does freedom comes in?
People nowadays are so busy working hard to pay for their expenses that they forget to work also on the things that they really want in life. That includes their dreams of a good life, personal plans to enjoy or goals to better their lives. Most people focus on their needs for security, they don’t realize that wants is also essential to their being.
Like what had happened to my father, that at a young age he was already exposed to work hard for the money until now that we already have our own RTW business he is still working so hard thinking that money is the center of the universe, money for him means security that without it our family will starve and he won’t be able to provide for our needs. Because of too much hard work he became miserable that he forgot to enjoy his life. He always tells me that he will just wait for the time that he will become rich so he can do the things that he wanted. What saddens me the most is that whenever I want to treat him for a spa/body massage he preferred cash rather than the comfort it will bring to his body, no matter what I do I cannot convince him. His experiences about hard work and money lead him to have a poor mindset and kept him in enjoying the good life that he deserves.
I then asked myself, “Will I just work hard for the things that I need? How about the things that I want? Should I live below my means?” Also, the statement, “I will just get what I want once I’m already rich” doesn’t make sense to me when in fact I can actually do it NOW. I can manage my (time and effort) money to make it work for me, both for my needs and wants.
